Incoming bandwidth speed up to 5Mbps

I can't reach incoming bandwidth above 5 Mbps (should be up to 100 Mbps?). To test it, I download some jpg files from servers in USA location, especially located in Texas. I use wget to do this. Server configuration (debian linux) is pure and unmodified. Here you have url to the wget log:

http://208.115.241.42/incoming.txt

and traceroutes and pings to tested servers:

http://208.115.241.42/ping_trace.txt

When I download the files in Europe (Germany, France and Poland), I reach 30-80Mbps transfer. So I mention that you are limmiting bandwidth incoming to the server. Please solve the problem. We need much higher incoming bandwidth than 5Mbps.

No information about incoming bandwidth limit was presented during purchase process.

The result is 100Mbps but this is local connection (see traceroute).

Yes, but this helps show there is not a hardware issue.

Can you please provide traceroutes to the sites you are downloading from, also the sites may have a cap on the speeds you can get.

Thank you,

Those traceroutes look good, perhaps there is rate limiting from the server you are trying to download.

I don't know. To Europe bandwidth is 30-80Mbps from these servers so I thing there is no problem with them. Could you give me couple urls to test files which are placed outside your network in the distance above 100 miles?

Ok I will perform more tests. I will use speedtest.net servers located in various USA states for it. Give me some time. But are you sure that the server's incoming bandwidth is OK now?

Ok I performed more tests to 10 random servers locate in random locations in USA. It is impossible that you not do any type of limiting for bandwidth. Maybe not on the servers but in your network there must be the limits. Check url with incoming bandwidth test results:

http://208.115.241.42/incoming2.txt

From limestonenetworks.com there is 100Mbps incoming so the problem should be at the border between your network and the world. We need much more incoming bandwidth so we would like you to refund payment for the server and turn it off.

Hello Bernard,

Unfortunately we would not be able to issue a refund for this issue. I see that you are currently on 100mbps, your performance would increase if you upgraded to our 1GB uplink port. Would you like to proceed with the 1GB uplink upgrade?

Thanks,

Dead Jonathan,

Did you see my test results? I did not reach incoming bandwith above 5Mbps when downloading data from random servers in USA. It is a little less than 100Mbps, don't you think? From the same servers I reach 30-50Mbps to Europe! If my server's uplink will be 50Mbps - everything will be fine. I don't care about 100Mbps in your local network (to limestonenetworks.com server). I need the bandwidth outside your datacenter. 1Gbps uplink will not help if you have problems on the border between datacenter and rest of the world. Please be professional. At the beginnig of our cooperation I had to wait a lot of time because you made a mistake but the money was paid. And now the quality of your services is very low in my opinion.

Could you proove me that I can reach 100Mbps (or at last 50Mbps) from servers outside Dallas to this machine? I don't think so because Mr. Michael N. did not want to give me urls to tests. That's why I wan't you to refund.

Bernard,

I logged in and downloaded a test file from a competitor's datacenter located over 2000 miles away in Seattle, WA. Here was the results from your server:

The final result was 10.5M/s. The issue you are experiencing is not a service issue with our network or providers as indicated by this test. The servers are your testing with are slow or rate limiting.

Dear Kris,

Do you think I am idiot? This IP 74.86.116.210 (speedtest.dal01.softlayer.com) is NOT 2000 miles away in Seattle! This IP is located in Dallas! Look at this:

As our Support Team (including our Director of Support) has confirmed, there have been absolutely no confirmed network or hardware issues that would constitute credit in any way. Further, our TOS, which you agree to at the time of purchase, states that no services are eligible for a refund. That said, we are willing to make an exception.

Upon your confirmation that you would like this server canceled *immediately*, we will provide the refund. Please advise.
