Incoming bandwidth speed up to 5Mbps
I can't reach incoming bandwidth above 5 Mbps
(should be up to 100 Mbps?). To test it, I download some jpg files from
servers in USA location, especially located in Texas. I use wget to do
this. Server configuration (debian linux) is pure and unmodified. Here
you have url to the wget log:
http://208.115.241.42/incoming.txt
and traceroutes and pings to tested servers:
http://208.115.241.42/ping_trace.txt
When I download the files in Europe (Germany, France and Poland), I
reach 30-80Mbps transfer. So I mention that you are limmiting bandwidth
incoming to the server. Please solve the problem. We need much higher
incoming bandwidth than 5Mbps.
No information about incoming bandwidth limit was presented during purchase process.

Please run a test from here and paste the results. |

The result is 100Mbps but this is local connection (see traceroute). |
|
Michael N. Support Technician |
Yes, but this helps show there is not a hardware issue. |

Traceroutes are under link: |

Those traceroutes look good, perhaps there is rate limiting from the server you are trying to download. |

I don't know. To Europe bandwidth is 30-80Mbps from these servers so I thing there is no problem with them. Could you give me couple urls to test files which are placed outside your network in the distance above 100 miles? |
|
Michael N. Support Technician |
I do not have any test files like this. |
|
Bernard S. speed |
Ok I will perform more tests. I will use speedtest.net servers located in various USA states for it. Give me some time. But are you sure that the server's incoming bandwidth is OK now? |
|
Michael N. Support Technician |
Yes, we do not do any type of limiting on the servers. |
|
Bernard S. speed |
Ok I performed more tests to 10 random servers locate in
random locations in USA. It is impossible that you not do any type of
limiting for bandwidth. Maybe not on the servers but in your network
there must be the limits. Check url with incoming bandwidth test

Bernard,
The final result was 10.5M/s. The issue you are experiencing is not a service issue with our network or providers as indicated by this test. The servers are your testing with are slow or rate limiting. --- Kris Anderson Director of Support Limestone Networks, Inc. Simple. Solid. Superior. |
